Permission Wall Open - Social distancing restrictions in place

The permission wall has been re-opened under strict measures agreed to between Vibrance and City of Hobart. Please read the safety precautions we have implemented when you request a painting permit.

The Bidecopes Permission Wall is a project by Vibrance Festival in partnership with the City of Hobart.

Located in the heart of the CBD, it is Hobart’s first legal wall for street art and is part of Vibrance’s on-going transformation of Bidencopes Lane.

The Permission Wall offers a new space for creativity, experimentation and development for Hobart’s vibrant street art scene.

The project has come about after Vibrance Festival 2017, which saw the installation of 25 new mural street artworks and the beginning of Bidencopes Lane’s transformation into a street art destination.

In addition to the Permission Wall, Vibrance will run Paint Days throughout the year within the laneway. The first Paint Day will be held on Saturday 8 September 2019. Stay tuned for more information and how to get involved.

This project has been made possible through the continuing support of City of Hobart, as well as building owners and business operators within Bidencopes Lane.
